Benjamin Sklar graduated from Amherst College in 2014 and currently lives in New York City. He started carrying a Daniel’s briefcase in July 2017.
Before buying a Daniel’s, I had never owned a briefcase. I wore a backpack over a tucked-in button down to the office every day. There are really three reasons why I wore a backpack to work:
-
My backpack was convenient. If it was convenient, why change?
-
A nice leather briefcase seemed expensive.
-
I never owned a briefcase so I didn’t think I needed one.
However, as time went on, I realized that my backpack just wasn’t going to cut it. The straps left my shirt wrinkled and something just felt off about wearing a backpack to the office. When I heard about Daniel’s, I thought, “Genius! The Warby Parker of briefcases. I’m buying one.” Since receiving my Daniel’s briefcase, I literally have carried it to work every single day. It makes me not only look more professional, but actually better at my job. I walk into meetings like I have been there before.
That’s why I carry a Daniel’s briefcase. And as my college football coach used to say, “If you look good, you feel good. If you feel good, you play good. If you play good, you win.”
